Yet another Scouting year has passed! And last night we began our new trek to Eaglehood! We have many trips, merit badge instructions and outings planned for this year and we hope Mother Nature cooperates better with our outings.

Our troop will definitely have a different flavor and composition as we said good bye to those that turned 18 this past year and now form part of the 'adult' side of the program.

William T. is our Senior Patrol Leader and he will be assisted by Dylan, Alex and John L.

July and August were very busy months in terms of Eaglehoods! Justin Malament, John Galdo, Evan Scholl and Matt Shearman earned their Eagle Rank and we will celebrate their accomplishments with an Eagle Court of Honor which has been scheduled for November 16, 2008.

Congratulations.

For this year, we have our plate full. We still be doing our 'traditional' trips, but we will include new trips like Gettysburg and Cycling!

This is also the year that we will begin planning our big for the summer of 2011. Where are we going? That is up to ALL of you.  Australia, South America, Asia or maybe we just visit one of our magnificent places in the country!

Troop 149 congratulates its newest Eagle Scouts!

Our Troop!

Who are we?  We are an active boy scout troop sponsored by the Bethlehem United Methodist Church, in West Chester, PA. We are a Quality Unit in the Lenni-Lenape district of the Chester County Council in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Troop 149 was first chartered in 1960 and has since then provided continuous service to the community and to the boys that are and have been part of the troop. 62 young men have achieved the rank of Eagle

We are a "SCOUT" led troop
. Under the direction of our  Scoutmaster and the Assistant Scoutmasters the scouts are responsible in executing the troop program plans, and  the primary leadership responsibilities fall to senior scouts with active supervision by the adult committee. This leadership is supported by our troop committee and by the participation of the Scouts' parents, our Eagle Scouts, the church community and our past Scout Masters.

Troop's 149 goal is to provide an educational environment where boys and young adults thrive to build character, personality,  learn to be responsible citizens and to enhance their personal fitness.  Our mission statement reflects that of the Boys Scouts of America ". To prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
